Reybanpac donated a second playground as part of its circular economy project.
Rafael Olmedo Naranjo is one of the schools run by the Wong Foundation. At its elementary level it benefits 106 boys and girls from communities near our plantations. On the first of June, Children's Day in Ecuador, we gave to this school a playground made from recycled plastic.
Reybanpac's circular economy project consists of using 100% of the plastic waste generated on our farms, which is delivered to managers for recycling. In exchange, corner posts for banana pallets are made from recycled plastic that are used for export. Likewise, playgrounds are built with the aim of adding value to the school units administered by the Wong Foundation.
In 2022, the results obtained by this project were: 215,303.76 kg of plastic recycled; manufacturing of 300,226 corner posts; and the provision of the first playground to Dr. Segundo Wong Mayorga Educational Unit.
This year, the delivery of a third playground is planned to improve the recreational areas of Cristóbal Colón School.
At Reybanpac we choose to contribute to the care of the planet and the well-being of rural communities. Through circular economy we reduce the environmental impact of our operations and achieve a sustainable solution for our exports. However, what fill us with joy and excitement is the gift of the smile of the children when we see them play.
You too can contribute by preferring products grown with sustainable practices.
Favorita, a responsible choice.
