On July 30, Reybanpac organized the conference: "Prevention of Fusarium TR4", given by Dr. Luis Ernesto Pocasangre, director of research and professor of tropical crops at the Earth University of Costa Rica. The event aimed to contribute to the Ecuadorian banana sector in the field of biosafety as part of the cooperation agreement between Reybanpac and the State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ).

The event, which took place in the main auditorium of the UTEQ in the city of Quevedo, was attended by 400 guests, including students and teachers from the University, independent banana producers, Agrocalidad officials, and Reybanpac agricultural and technical personnel.

At the conference, Dr. Pocasangre analyzed the historical context of musaceae diseases in Ecuador, and addressed the importance of implementing mechanisms to prevent the spread of Fusarium TR4 in plantations in the country, since it is located between two epidemic zones: La Guajira in Colombia and the Piura Valley in Peru.

At the same time, he explained to the audience the technical control and prevention actions necessary for this plague, and the current management of the epidemic in South America was reviewed. Finally, Dr. Pocasangre shared with the attendees the best practices implemented by Reybanpac in the last year as part of its Fusarium TR4 prevention strategy.
