Once again Favorita participated in Fruit Logistica, one of the world's most important trade fair for the fresh produce industry, which took place in Berlin (Germany) from February 7 to 9. This meeting was an opportunity to strengthen commercial relations with multiple clients from different parts of the world, with special attention to their current market needs and expectations for 2024, according to Mónica Molineros, the company's commercial manager:
"We always seek to cultivate long-term relationships with our customers. This is a benefit for both parties as it provides certainty for the future and the opportunity to strengthen our bonds and support over time.”
At the trade fair, REYBANPAC highlighted its commitment to sustainability and the practices that make FAVORITA banana a RESPONSIBLE CHOICE for all those who prefer it, according to Vicente Wong, CEO of the organization:
"We are a company committed to the creation of employment in rural communities, the development and well-being of our employees and the community; through the Wong Foundation we look after education, the progress of rural communities surrounding the company's operations; we believe in responsible agricultural production, which is reflected in environmental care through precision agriculture, circular economy and responsible management of resources," he explained.
Margarita Wong, commercial manager of the subsidiaries in Europe, China and the United States, emphasized the value of the company's leaders being able to meet face to face with customers in one place: "For us, proximity and customer service are important, which is why we decided a few years ago to open offices in Rotterdam, China and the United States".
José Antonio Vargas, general manager, added: "we are the largest producer and second largest exporter of bananas in Ecuador; traceability is one of the main benefits we offer our customers due to the direct relationship with the producer. Our bananas reach more than 30 countries in the world and we will work even harder to expand to new destinations".
Vicente Wong described FAVORITA's presence at Fruit Logistica as a very profitable experience and assured that they are prepared to take on the many challenges of today's world:
