Reybanpac, in the Top 100 Ecuadorian companies with best reputation

Reybanpac ended 2023 in the Top 100 companies with best reputation in Ecuador, according to the results of MERCO corporate monitor published in Informe Empresarial magazine of El Universo newspaper. In its evaluation this ranking considered the financial results of the organizations, as well as the quality of their commercial offer, employer brand, ethics, corporate responsibility, international dimension and innovation.

In addition, the company's CEO, Vicente Wong, was recognized as one of the top 50 Ecuadorian business leaders due his outstanding reputation. At the same time, the corporation obtained third place in the category of business conglomerates. This positioning reflects the organization’s firm commitment to its more than 8,000 employees, as well as customers, partners, suppliers, and society.

Reybanpac, whose flagship brand is Favorita bananas, also stood out in the 2023 Largest Employers Ranking, published by Ekos Magazine. The company ranked 8th in the list with 6,145 employees and a primary impact in rural areas.

For 46 years, Reybanpac has been a benchmark in Ecuador's banana industry due to its constant search for excellence and efficiency, as well as its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. As a result, Reybanpac is the largest producer and second largest banana exporter in the country. Its product is delivered to over thirty destinations in five continents.

Through the Wong Foundation, created in 1993, Reybanpac contributes to SDG 4 - Quality Education. The Foundation currently operates three educational units, four child development centers and offers technical-productive programs to contribute to the growth and well-being of rural communities.

Since 1998, Wong Foundation has also taken care of its own protected area at the Río Palenque Scientific Center, the only remaining primary tropical forest in the upper Guayas basin. Its 110 hectares is the home to 1,216 species of plants and preserves hundreds of birds species as well as bees, butterflies, snakes, frogs, iguanas, bats, rodents and insects.
