This week, 37 students from the Wong Foundation completed their secondary studies. Through an emotional ceremony in each of the three educational units, the families were able to accompany their graduates in this important celebration.
For Amarelys Moreno, Principal of the Rafael Olmedo Unit located in Los Ríos Province, this is a reason for joy. “It is a great pride to see these students, whom we have educated since they were little, reach the goal of being a Bachelor of the Republic of Ecuador. We motivate them to continue their technical and professional studies; that they obtain other degrees, which are essential for their professional development in the coming years”.
On her part, the recent graduate, Ana María Rodríguez Pérez, shares a message for her family, teachers and classmates. “To everyone, thank you for having accompanied us in this very special moment for all of us. I want to thank the Wong Foundation from the bottom of my heart for providing this support to all students. Also thank the teachers for giving us their support, having been patient with us. To my classmates, I want to say that we are all good, smart. Keep going and don't give up."
The Wong Foundation was created in 1993 to promote the physical, intellectual and spiritual growth of Ecuadorian boys and girls through education provided in rural areas.
“We are committed to rural education. We believe that educating children and young people contributes to their personal development, to the promotion of values, to strengthening their commitment to their family and their communities, but it also allows them to develop job skills and competencies for their future.” Ricardo Romero, Director of the Wong Foundation, stand out. “Today is a day of celebration, it is a day of appreciation for the work of all the teachers and the entire team that has been working with them for 12 years. It fills us all with great joy."
