AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION IS ESSENTIAL IN TIMES OF HEALTH EMERGENCY

Nourishing families has always been a fundamental role in society. A good diet is key to contribute to people's health and well-being. This becomes even more relevant in this time when we are facing a pandemic that has disrupted the daily life and reality of many countries.

The declaration of the state of emergency in the various nations with the aim of slowing down the advance of COVID-19, comes hand in hand with the importance of continuing, safely, with the production and export of agricultural products to ensure food supplies to all households around the world. Agribusiness is an essential sector, and as such cannot stop working. Each State must offer the necessary guarantees so that the chain can continue operating and its population has access to the necessary provisions.

At Reybanpac we are committed to continuing to provide quality bananas. We want to be part of that special moment of sharing the table and offer a product that is both, delicious and highly nutritious. Our desire is to take care of families doing what we know how to do best.

We also take care of our own, those men and women who are part of our team and who we are proud of their tenacity and the passion with which they carry out their work. Protecting their health is a priority for us, therefore all sanitary protocols are followed in our facilities and they are provided with the necessary protection implements. The teleworking mechanism has been applied for administrative functions, and employees who belong to vulnerable groups are at home.
Additionally, we have implemented other actions such as hiring more doctors to expand health coverage; safe transportation on weekends so that those who live in remote areas can have secure access to supplies; we are importing COVID-19 detection tests for our collaborators, and we have made agreements with laboratories for their priority analysis.

Aware of the needs of rural communities in our country, especially those whose income depends on their daily work, we are coordinating through the Wong Foundation the delivery of food kits to the most vulnerable families in the areas of influence of our farms, an action that will continue in a sustained manner throughout the emergency. This battle requires union and solidarity for all to contribute to the general welfare.
