On October 29, Reybanpac received recognition at the ‘Let’s Talk About Change’ awards, presented by the digital media Primicias with the technical endorsement of the sustainability consulting firm Ypsilom, for its contribution to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #5: Gender Equality. This is thanks to the Women Empowering Women mentoring program, which we have been developing since 2024 in partnership with the Wong Foundation, with methodological support from the NGO Plan International.
In 2024, Reybanpac carried out the first mentoring program, in which 40 teenagers from rural communities in the province of Los Ríos, beneficiaries of the Wong Foundation and Plan International programs, received support and training in gender equality, professional tools, and violence prevention for three months, under the guidance of 21 female leaders from Reybanpac and the Wong Foundation, who participated voluntarily.
In the second edition, held in 2025, 30 young women, this time between the ages of 17 and 24, strengthened their soft skills and job competencies to boost their empowerment and leadership, accompanied by 30 mentors.
The training sessions were conducted mainly online to facilitate the participation and safety of the young women, who came from different communities. In both editions, the course culminated in a face-to-face training meeting between mentors and mentees, where they also celebrated the milestone of their graduation.
In addition, Reybanpac awarded twenty educational scholarships each year to enable vulnerable young adolescents to access and remain in the formal education system. The beneficiaries are adolescents who are part of Plan International's programs.
This initiative reflects the commitment of Reybanpac, the Wong Foundation, and Plan International to gender equality and the formation of strategic alliances to provide training opportunities that promote female empowerment and leadership, especially among young women in rural areas.
