Quito, Ecuador. - During the Talent Summit Ecuador 2025, held on March 26 by Ekos Magazine and Great Place to Work Ecuador, Reybanpac was recognized as one of the largest employment-generating companies in the country. Leonardo Viteri, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, received the award on behalf of the organization.
The recognition is given thanks to Reybanpac's strong commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 of the 2030 Agenda, related to decent work and economic growth. Currently, the company has 6,400 employees, 85% of whom are agricultural personnel residing in areas close to our operations, reflecting our responsibility for the development of rural communities and their people.
As a company, we are also aware that for the economic growth of agribusiness to be sustainable, it is necessary to provide tools so that people can develop professionally and thus improve their quality of life and that of their environment. For this reason, Reybanpac has implemented training programs, aimed at both internal and external collaborators, with a technical and practical focus, to strengthen the acquisition of skills and knowledge linked to real situations in the productive environment.
Together with the Wong Foundation, we developed the AGROFUTURE program, which seeks to strengthen the agricultural technical training of adolescents and young people between 15 and 29 years of age in rural areas, providing tools and opportunities for their early access to the local labor market. The program has three strategies:
1. Technical baccalaureate in agricultural production at the Dr. Segundo Wong Educational Unit: implemented from 2024 in order to develop technical skills in agricultural production and entrepreneurship in adolescents in high school stage.
2. Banana technical assistant programs: 450-hour theoretical and practical training programs for young people between the ages of 18 and 29. The first class of students in this program will soon graduate.
3. Productive Technical Baccalaureate (BTP) with specialization in agricultural entrepreneurship: implemented between 2021 and 2024 under an agreement between Reybanpac, the Wong Foundation and the Ministry of Education. This program benefited 129 graduates, 38% of whom were women and 77% of whom are currently employed.
Likewise, through our Reybanpac Center of Excellence, we trained our employees in administrative and agricultural areas with training and skills development programs to promote their professional growth and continuous process improvement.
At Reybanpac, we remain committed to the generation of decent work and economic growth in the Ecuadorian agroindustry through the generation of opportunities, permanently ensuring the professional growth of our team and contributing to the employability of young people in rural areas by providing them with the technical skills necessary to develop in the sector.
