Reybanpac organized the final of the Agricultural Olympics 2024. The event was attended by 48 finalists, who previously passed the qualifying phases that took place in the six zones where the company's farms are located.
This competition, which is being held for the 11th time, aims to promote excellence in field and packing personnel and recognize the talent and effort of the company's employees.
During the day, the participants competed in sheathing, propping, defoliation, selection, sorting, weighing, labeling, and packaging. Ultimately, prizes were awarded to the first three places in each category.
Vicente Wong Naranjo, CEO of the company, congratulated all the participants for their great dedication and commitment. “I appreciate the work of this group represented here, but also of all the 6,000 employees that make up Reybanpac. Despite the challenges we face as a country, we remain focused on our work and seek to do it with excellence,” he stressed.
José Antonio Vargas, manager of the banana unit, also highlighted the efforts of the competitors: “Today I would like to thank all of you for your hard work and for always striving for excellence. This has allowed us to be the leading banana producer in Ecuador and will continue to push us towards better things in the future. Congratulations, because you have done all the merits to achieve these awards,” he said.
José Medardo Sánchez, an agricultural worker, won the first-place medal in the selection category for the second time. “This is the prize for our day-to-day efforts. Today, we have come to represent what we have worked for all year, it has been a very nice experience,” said Sanchez, adding that responsibility and knowledge of the work were the keys to achieving this success.
For her part, Gabriela Bravo managed to take first place in the labeling work. “We must persevere. I have been doing this work for five years, the first time I competed I didn't win, and I set out to improve. Today I can say 'I am a winner',” said the collaborator.
REYBANPAC congratulates all the competitors for their effort and commitment. As a company, we will continue to reward and promote the excellence that has made us a leader in Ecuadorian agribusiness.
