REYBANPAC LINKS ITS MEDICAL CLINICS TO THE IESS TO EXTEND BENEFITS TO ITS WORKERS

2024-03-19

Since March 1, REYBANPAC's medical clinics have been annexed to the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS). This is thanks to an agreement signed by both institutions to provide comprehensive health care to the company's workers.

This agreement aims to provide health benefits to employees residing in Los Ríos province, particularly in rural communities, where access to healthcare is limited. Thus, for example, those who require specialized outpatient care will be referred directly by the dispensary doctor to the IESS health network centers nationwide where there is an available schedule.

The company's doctors can also register the patients' Single Clinical History in the Social Security computer system. This will allow the employee to receive more appropriate, timely, and efficient medical care at any health center in the network where he/she is treated.

In addition, employees who require medicines for their treatments will be able to obtain their prescriptions at the dispensaries so that they can pick them up at the IESS Hospital in Quevedo free of charge, according to their health coverage. Patients will also be able to receive orders for imaging and laboratory tests from the doctors at the clinics.

"More than five thousand employees will benefit from this articulation with the public sector. Our interest is to contribute to people's well-being, and comprehensive health care is fundamental for developing a full life. Through this agreement we contribute to a more agile, complete, and efficient health service for our employees," says Leonardo Viteri, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Reybanpac.
