Reybanpac maintains a permanent communication campaign aimed at its employees to raise awareness and promote the biosafety culture for the prevention of pests and diseases in plantations.
In the month of January, the contest was launched in which teams made up of farm workers had to remind their colleagues of the steps of the biosafety protocol and motivated them to comply with them. For this, the contestants created songs, amorfinos (folkloric songs from the region) and theatrical performances that they recorded on video. A jury selected the finalist videos and they were uploaded to a microsite where all the company's staff could see them and vote for their favorite.
With more than six thousand votes, the winners of the first three places were defined.
On March 7, the award event was held with the presence of the general manager. During the event, the effort of all the workers who were part of this campaign was recognized, who were applauded by leaders of the different departments of the banana unit and their bosses.
“These types of campaigns are highly relevant in order to raise awareness among our workers regarding the care of the health of our crops. In Latin America we face threats such as Fusarium R4 and Moko, so we must be proactive and creative to minimize these risks”, says Vicente A. Wong, general manager. “Our efforts do not end here, we will continue to strengthen our prevention measures to protect the plantations that are the source of employment for more than six thousand Ecuadorian families. Our commitment is to guarantee the production of high-quality bananas that contribute to the well-being of consumers and those who grow it.”
