In recent days, our first promotion of the Technical Baccalaureate in Agricultural Production was incorporated. 37 young people completed their dual training process developed by Reybanpac and the Wong Foundation in agreement with the Ministry of Education of Ecuador.

At the ceremony, Rafael Wong, president of the Wong Foundation and executive vice president of Reybanpac, highlighted the importance of this event: “We see with great satisfaction how the transforming effects of education are materialized. Today's world demands that there be continuing education. It demands constant preparation according to the rapid evolution of the world and the labor market, and we hope that you evolve at the same time for the good of society, for your communities and for the entire country”. Likewise, he encouraged them to always be at the forefront, to be leaders and remain faithful to their values. Finally, he motivated them towards the possibility of entrepreneurship.

Robinson Paredes, in his speech as the best student of the class, expressed his gratitude: “I am grateful for these 10 months of learning. Reybanpac and the Ministry of Education managed to converge with the purpose of training us and opening doors for young people to new opportunities with the bachelor's degree on agricultural entrepreneurship. Today we are 37 young people with knowledge in banana production, one of the main sources of employment in our country. Some have already managed to rise to administrative positions within the company. We thank each of our leaders for standing by our side giving us encouragement. To the director of the Wong Foundation who coached us in the internships, motivating us and making us reflect. We hope that you will continue to provide us with these opportunities for growth.”

The bachelor’s degree in agricultural entrepreneurship is a 1200-hour theoretical-practical program certified by the Ministry of Education. It is aimed at men and women between the ages of 18 and 26 to generate opportunities for social transformation and economic growth through specialized dual training in bananas, thus contributing to their professional development and their access to job opportunities inside or outside our organization.

The first class was made up of both graduates of the Wong Foundation schools and current Reybanpac employees. For the 2022-2023 period, the number of registered students doubled.

At the end, Vicente Wong encouraged the graduates to do everything with passion, to continue learning and to be persistent: “Get together with the best, listen to people with experience and put all your knowledge into practice. Persist in what you are looking for, there are no obstacles if you really set your mind to something. Congratulations to all of you and your families.”
