From November 18 to 20, a virtual edition of Asia Fruit Logistica will take place, one of the most important fairs in the fruit and vegetable sector. Favorita bananas will be participating at this meeting.

According to information recently shared in a webinar organized by Asia Fruit Logistica and Fruitnet, in 2019, China imported 5.8 million tons of fruit, of which 1.8 million were bananas. Between the Philippines and Ecuador, about 50% of this fruit is supplied. Although in 2020 the logistical difficulties caused by the pandemic generated a rebound in the consumption of local products, this market maintains a high appreciation for imported premium fruits.

At the level of consumer habits in the Chinese market, experts indicated that the pandemic accelerated the growth of trends that were already emerging. Among these there is a greater interest in consuming healthy products, which contribute to having a greater vitality and quality of life. In this regard, the purchasing process has become more rational, and the attributes of the product and its quality are important factors.
