Quevedo, Ecuador.- On September 18, we successfully concluded the second edition of our “Women Empowering Women” mentoring program, a transformative initiative that continues to strengthen leadership and opportunities for young women from rural communities.

Throughout the program, 30 young people between the ages of 17 and 24 benefited from the guidance of 30 women leaders from Reybanpac and the Wong Foundation, with methodological support from Plan International. Through six virtual sessions, participants explored topics focused on developing skills for employability, such as critical thinking and problem solving, adaptability and change management, personal finance, among others. The closing session was held in person and featured a workshop on gender and inclusion in the workplace, reinforcing the importance of equity and empowerment.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to Reybanpac, Fundación Wong, and Plan International for making this possible, as well as to each of the mentors for supporting us throughout the project, especially my mentor, Ana Rivera, for trusting us, guiding us, and inspiring us to give our best", expressed Rubí, one of the program beneficiaries and a student at the Wong Foundation.

“Today we come to the end of this program with satisfaction at everything we have learned and contributed, both the mentors and the mentees,” said Fanny Mendoza, Human Resources Manager at Reybanpac and mentor.

"Women Empowering Women" was a joint effort between Reybanpac, Wong Foundation, and Plan International to contribute to female empowerment and promote gender equality in rural communities in Ecuador.
