Guayaquil, Ecuador.- On June 19, the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce awarded Reybanpac the business merit award for sustainable impact in recognition of its exemplary practices in environmental conservation, gender equality, technical training, and circular economy, actions that have positioned our organization as a benchmark in corporate responsibility and transformation of the agro-export sector.
The tribute took place during the solemn session commemorating the 136th anniversary of the founding of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce. Vicente Wong received the award from Miguel Ángel González, president of the association.
During his speech, in front of hundreds of attendees, our CEO emphasized that the recognition is the result of maintaining a clear purpose: to nurture people and cultivate well-being, which has allowed Reybanpac to generate a positive impact on society and endure over time, despite the various challenges throughout its 47-year history.
“Our commitment is to continue investing in our country that we love so much and generating jobs, but it's not just about saying it, it's about living it, and I want to leave you with a message: we must not only add value to our investors and business partners, but also to our people, that is our main purpose,” he said.
As proof of this, Vicente Wong cited the more than 70,000 beneficiaries who have been able to receive free, quality education over the past 32 years thanks to our Wong Foundation. “We don't see this as charity, but as something integrated into our value chain. Creating opportunities for our people means creating life, development, and combating poverty, insecurity, and migration from the countryside to the city,” he emphasized.
On the environmental front, Wong highlighted the importance of optimizing resources, such as water, and called on the national business community to implement a sustainable development model to add value to people and the country.
Reybanpac thanks the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce for this valuable award, which reinforces our commitment to our people and the environment where we operate. We also congratulate the chamber for its 136 years of promoting the growth of its members and the development of the productive sector throughout Ecuador.
