As part of its commitment to promoting environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable practices, the “Pasos con Futuro” alliance (Spanish for Steps with Future), comprising Reybanpac, Grupo Difare, Veolia Ecuador, Banco Guayaquil, and Duragas Abastible, invited John Punín, Director of Enterprise Architecture at Consulsys and former Data Scientist at Oracle; and Roberto Miranda, president of the Ecuadorian Association of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability, to deliver the conference “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Business and Sustainability”.
This discussion addressed the advancements, risks, and opportunities that this technology presents for the productive sector and its contribution to organizational transformation. Topics covered included intelligent automation and productivity, predictive models for energy efficiency, AI applied to sustainable value chains, governance, ethics, and technology regulation.
During the session, held at the Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES), one of Ecuador’s leading universities, and broadcast live on El Universo’s YouTube channel, the digital platform of the Ecuadorian newspaper, speakers highlighted how artificial intelligence enables companies to strengthen their competitiveness through process optimization, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation. Likewise, its contribution to corporate sustainability was emphasized, facilitating the measurement of environmental indicators, efficient resource management, and risk anticipation.
The experts emphasized that artificial intelligence in the business environment is no longer optional and that its use must be adapted to both market demands and global and local regulations governing this technology.
Through this conference, the Pasos con Futuro alliance reaffirms its institutional commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development of leaders capable of addressing the challenges of today’s global landscape.
