On October 16, Reybanpac received recognition in the Hablemos de Cambio (Let's Talk about Change) awards, granted by the digital media Primicias with the technical endorsement of the sustainability consulting firm Ypsilom, for its contribution to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #8 of the 2030 Agenda, which has to do with decent work and economic growth. This, thanks to the Productive Technical Baccalaureate (BTP) initiative, developed in agreement with the Wong Foundation and the Ministry of Education of Ecuador between 2021 and 2024.
Through this dual training program in agricultural technical skills, 129 young people (38% of this group were women) between 18 and 29 years of age from rural communities in the country obtained specialized technical certification in banana production.
Through this project, which is part of a comprehensive program called AGROFUTURO, Reybanpac and Wong Foundation contribute to the employability and professional growth of young people in rural areas by providing them with the technical skills they need to develop in agribusiness.
The BTP has served as a tool that allows young people to acquire skills and knowledge linked to real situations in the productive environment. In this way, it is possible to increase the possibilities of insertion and growth in the labor market for young people.
Likewise, participants learn about good agricultural practices focused on environmentally and community responsible production. Reybanpac technicians, a company recognized for its high production standards in compliance with the most demanding certification programs, accompany the participants.
Reybanpac is committed to the generation of decent work and youth employment and will continue working to contribute to economic growth in rural areas and the sustainability of our sector.
For its part, Fundación Wong has maintained a 30-year commitment to the children and youth of rural communities in the provinces of Los Ríos and Santo Domingo. A mission that will continue to focus on promoting the growth and wellbeing of the communities, creating learning and development opportunities and fostering economic and social inclusion.
